I heart sackboy !!!
First Blogger post in ... 10 years? kinda nervous
I LOVE Sackboy, and even more so the LittleBigPlanet series. I have so many things to say about how much I love everything lbp my head, but the amazing digital stage fright is clawing at my heels right now, so I'm off to pour a Fireball + Coke.
With the game's focus being "Play. Create. Share.", I totally think Sackboy would be a communist. Or not, I don't know. Like most of my generation I land in the green square on the political compass, and also like most, believe I have any understanding of it. Nonetheless, LittleBigPlanet in it's prime was endless creative opportunity for anyone with a PS3 controller. This was back before you had to pay a subscription for online play, allowing all tax brackets to make whatever they liked; I fondly recall escaping killer sharks, dodging bombs in angry bird land, and distastefully making my brothers eat knitted palm knowing they hadn't the finger dexterity to retaliate.
Then, inspired by it all, I would drag them into the level editor where they would play in the corner while I haplessly muddled together a single stage of Wipeout before calling quits. I just wasn't ready to harness all the tools this game had laid out for me, but the message it carried has stuck with me ever since. I feel like a part of me died after the last game's servers shut down for good, like I lost a fraction of my very humanity I've never been able to replace. Nothing the real world can give me will bring the same joy ever again.
Personally, I liked the first game's story levels the most, but the second's was the peak of community content. The third we rarely talk about and the spinoff made for the PS5 sits at the bottom of the game pile. It was truly tasteless, attempting to sculpt a bust of a fallen god from its rotted flesh. And don't even get me started on Astrobot, the blue-eyed punk PlayStation wheeled in to distract us all from Sackboy's MURDER (The hackers who disabled the servers were part of an inside job!!!).

you’ve convinced me he’s totally adorable. not that you needed to cause he looks adorable. and i would play his game if i still could 😋
